Capitoline Wolf – An Artistic Hair Editorial with Alexandra

On 22 May 2013, I had the opportunity to photograph Alexandra in a creative editorial inspired by the legendary Capitoline Wolf, transforming a timeless symbol into a striking work of hair art and fashion photography.

The centerpiece of this concept was the extraordinary hairstyling created by Toni Stamate from Beauty & Hair Concept in Timișoara. Using sculptural techniques, the hairstyle recreated the unmistakable silhouette of the Capitoline Wolf, turning hair into an expressive artistic medium rather than simply a fashion element.

Alexandra's elegant posing and calm expression complemented the artistic vision, allowing the elaborate hairstyle to become the focal point while adding emotion and character to every frame. Her performance helped bring the mythical inspiration to life with a refined and graceful presence.

To complete the concept, the styling featured natural textures, earthy tones, and handcrafted details that echoed the spirit of ancient mythology. Photographed outdoors against lush greenery, the setting provided a subtle backdrop that enhanced the sculptural hair design and reinforced the connection between nature, legend, and artistic expression.

Looking back, this editorial remains one of my most imaginative collaborations from 2013—a project that celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and the remarkable results that can be achieved when photography, hairstyling, makeup, fashion, and a talented model come together to tell a compelling visual story.
